5 Dangerous Things That Can Happen If You Skip Your Baby Scan.

1-FETAL ABNORMALITIES NOT DETECTED EARLY.

Without a scan, any birth defects such as cleft lip, heart problems, or organ abnormalities may not be detected early enough for appropriate treatment.

2- ABNORMAL FETAL POSITION

Scans help identify the baby's position, such as breech, which can complicate the delivery process if not detected early.

3- FETAL GROWTH PROBLEMS

Some babies may experience growth restriction (IUGR) or be too large, which can cause complications during childbirth. Scans allow doctors to monitor fetal development more closely.

4- UNDETECTED PROBLEMATIC PREGNANCIES

Issues such as ectopic pregnancy, placenta previa (placenta covering the birth canal), or oligohydramnios (low amniotic fluid) can threaten the lives of the mother and baby if not identified early.

5- RISK OF FETAL DEMISE IN THE WOMB

Without ultrasound monitoring, serious complications such as a nuchal cord (umbilical cord around the neck) or disrupted blood flow to the fetus may go undetected, increasing the risk of miscarriage or stillbirth.

What Are the Benefits If You SCAN Your Baby Now?

1- CHECKING THE BABY'S OVERALL GROWTH.

2- EXAMINING THE BABY'S STRUCTURE, LIMBS, AND ORGANS.

3- DETERMINING THE POSITION OF THE PLACENTA.

4- ASSESSING THE AMOUNT OF AMNIOTIC FLUID.

5- SEEING THE BABY'S GENDER.

6- BABY HEALTH ASSESSMENT

If any of the baby's limbs or organs are found to be imperfect or problematic, such as heart problems, the mother will be referred to a specialist for further action, such as determining the appropriate treatment method and the suitable hospital for delivery.

Why Is an Early Pregnancy Test Important?

An Early Pregnancy Test is very important to confirm pregnancy as early as possible. This helps expectant mothers take the necessary steps to ensure a healthy pregnancy. Here are some of the main reasons why an early pregnancy test should be done:

1. Start Prenatal Care Earlier
Once pregnancy is confirmed, mothers can begin prenatal care immediately, including taking folic acid supplements, undergoing health check-ups, and adopting a healthy lifestyle to support optimal baby development.

2. Prevent Pregnancy Complications
Certain high-risk conditions such as ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy need to be detected early to allow prompt treatment and avoid serious complications.

3. Plan a Healthy Lifestyle & Diet
Knowing about the pregnancy early allows mothers to avoid risky habits such as smoking, alcohol consumption, or unsafe foods during pregnancy.

4. Manage Emotions & Future Planning
Early awareness of pregnancy helps parents prepare mentally, emotionally, and financially to welcome their baby more confidently.

Recommended to be done between 12 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Recommended to be done between 18 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. A Growth Scan only takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Free Gender Scan for  patients  in package Pink Book.

Recommended to be done between 20 and 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Recommended to be done between 22 and 30 weeks of pregnancy.

A 2D ultrasound scan is the most basic and commonly used method for pregnancy check-ups. However, 4D or 5D scans offer additional advantages, providing a more immersive experience for parents. Here are the main reasons why 4D or 5D scans are better than 2D alone:

1. See Baby’s Face & Movements More Clearly

  • 2D: Only shows black-and-white cross-sectional images of the fetus.

  • 4D: Allows parents to see the baby in 3D with real-time movement.

  • 5D: Offers more realistic images with natural lighting, resembling the baby’s actual skin tone.

2. Detect Physical Abnormalities More Clearly

  • 2D: It can be difficult to spot facial defects like cleft lip or hand abnormalities.

  • 4D/5D: Provides clearer, more realistic images, making it easier for doctors to detect external defects.

3. Strengthen Emotional Bond Between Parents & Baby

With 4D or 5D scans, parents can see expressions like smiling, yawning, or thumb-sucking, making the experience more meaningful and emotional.

4. Special Keepsakes for Parents

4D and 5D scans can be recorded as high-quality videos and images, allowing parents to keep these memories before the baby’s birth.

5. Complements, Not Replaces, 2D Scans

2D scans are still necessary for internal health checks, such as:

  • Baby’s heartbeat

  • Organ size

  • Placenta position

4D and 5D scans are an addition to view the baby’s form more clearly, but they are not meant for primary diagnostic purposes.

Recommended to be done between 10 and 15 weeks of pregnancy

Purpose of a 6D Scan:

1. See Baby’s Face More Clearly

A 6D scan allows parents to see the baby’s facial expressions, such as smiling, yawning, or hand movements, with images that are almost lifelike.

2. Check Baby’s Health & Development

This scan helps doctors assess fetal growth, position, and detect any possible physical abnormalities.

3. Special Keepsakes for Parents

With higher-quality images, parents can save photos and videos of the scan as precious memories before the baby’s birth.

4. Strengthen Emotional Bond Between Parents & Baby

Seeing the baby’s face more realistically provides a deeper emotional experience, making parents more excited to welcome their little one.

5. Monitor Baby’s Position & Movements

A 6D scan also helps determine the baby’s position, especially before delivery, to ensure a smoother birth process.

Recommended to be done between 11 and

Purpose of NT Scan:

1. Detect Risk of Down Syndrome & Chromosomal Abnormalities

The NT Scan helps assess the likelihood of the baby having Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome, or Patau Syndrome by measuring the thickness of the nuchal fluid (at the back of the neck).

2. Check Early Fetal Development

In addition to assessing chromosomal risk, the NT Scan allows doctors to examine the early development of the baby’s organs.

3. Combined with Blood Test (Combined Screening Test)

For more accurate results, the NT Scan is usually performed alongside maternal blood tests to calculate the risk of genetic abnormalities in greater detail.

4. Safe & Painless Procedure

The NT Scan is performed like a regular ultrasound, with no risk to the mother or baby.

Note: If the NT Scan shows a high risk, doctors may recommend further testing such as NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) or amniocentesis for confirmation.

What is the Difference Between 2D, 3D, 4D and 5D Baby Scans?

Black-and-white scans performed at clinics or hospitals to monitor the baby’s development. There are 3 types of 2D scans: 2D Growth Scan, 2D Full Detail Scan, and 2D Partial Detail Scan.

A 3D scan produces still images, while a 4D scan shows a live video of the baby in real time.

HD scan is similar to 3D/4D scans and is not a 5D scan, as it does not show any extra dimensions. The difference from 3D/4D scans is that the baby’s texture appears more like real skin. However, many clinics label HD scans as 5D scans. To avoid confusion, HD and 5D scans are generally categorized together.
